Word limits are recommendations and include the main text but normally exclude the abstract, tables, figures, acknowledgements, and references.

3. Originality and exclusive submission

  • The manuscript must constitute original scholarly work.
  • It must not have been published previously in substantially the same form.
  • It must not be under consideration by another journal at the time of submission.
  • All sources, ideas, data, images, tables, and quotations obtained from other works must be appropriately acknowledged.
  • Authors must obtain permission for copyrighted material when permission is legally required.
  • Redundant publication, duplicate submission, plagiarism, data fabrication, and citation manipulation are prohibited.

4. Required submission files

1. Cover letter
A brief letter confirming originality, exclusive submission, manuscript relevance, and approval by all authors.
2. Title page
The title, complete author details, affiliations, ORCID identifiers, corresponding-author information, and declarations.
3. Anonymized manuscript
The manuscript without author names, affiliations, acknowledgements, or other information that directly identifies the authors.
4. Tables, figures, or supplementary files
Editable tables and high-quality figures should be supplied separately when requested or when they cannot be embedded clearly in the manuscript.

5. Title-page requirements

The title page must contain:

  • the complete manuscript title;
  • the full name of each author;
  • department, institution, city, and country for each author;
  • institutional or professional email address;
  • ORCID iD in the format https://orcid.org/0000-0000-0000-0000;
  • identification of the corresponding author;
  • author-contribution statement;
  • funding information;
  • conflict-of-interest declaration;
  • data-availability statement, where applicable;
  • acknowledgements, where applicable.

6. Recommended manuscript structure

Title

The title should be concise, informative, grammatically complete, and accurately reflect the study’s principal topic, context, and design.

Abstract

Provide a self-contained abstract of approximately 200–300 words stating the background, objective, methodology, principal findings, contribution, and implications. Undefined abbreviations, citations, tables, and figures should not appear in the abstract.

Keywords

Provide five to eight specific keywords or short phrases that improve the discoverability of the article. Avoid repeating the complete article title.

Introduction

Explain the research context, problem, significance, literature gap, objective, research questions or hypotheses, and the study’s expected contribution.

Literature review and theoretical framework

Critically synthesize relevant scholarship rather than listing studies descriptively. Define the theoretical or conceptual framework and demonstrate how the study addresses a clearly identified gap.

Methodology

Describe the research design, context, population or data source, sampling, instruments, variables, analytical procedures, validity or trustworthiness measures, ethical approval, and relevant limitations in sufficient detail to permit evaluation and replication.

Results

Present the findings clearly and logically without unnecessary repetition between the text, tables, and figures. Statistical results should include appropriate estimates, uncertainty measures, and exact significance values where relevant.

Discussion

Interpret the findings in relation to the research questions, theoretical framework, and previous scholarship. Explain the theoretical, practical, managerial, or policy implications and address alternative interpretations.

Conclusion

Summarize the principal contribution without repeating the abstract. State the limitations and identify realistic directions for future research.

References

Include only sources cited in the manuscript. References must follow APA 7th-edition style and include DOI links in the form https://doi.org/… whenever available.

7. Formatting requirements

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx).
  • Page size: A4.
  • Font: Times New Roman, 12-point.
  • Line spacing: 1.5 throughout the main manuscript.
  • Margins: approximately 2.5 cm on all sides.
  • Alignment: justified main text.
  • Headings: use a clear and consistent hierarchy.
  • Page numbers: number all pages consecutively.
  • Abbreviations: define at first use and apply consistently.
  • Footnotes: use sparingly and avoid using them only for bibliographic citations.

8. Tables, figures, and supplementary materials

  • Number tables and figures consecutively in the order in which they are mentioned.
  • Provide a concise and informative title for every table and figure.
  • Mention every table and figure explicitly in the manuscript text.
  • Place explanatory notes and source information directly below the table or figure.
  • Ensure that figures are clear, readable, and of sufficient resolution for publication.
  • Tables should be editable rather than inserted only as images.
  • Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reuse copyrighted visual material.
  • Supplementary files should be clearly named and referenced in the manuscript.

9. Citations and references

EEBEJ uses the APA 7th-edition referencing style. Authors must verify that:

  • every in-text citation has a corresponding reference-list entry;
  • every reference-list entry is cited in the manuscript;
  • author names, years, titles, volume numbers, issue numbers, and page ranges are accurate;
  • DOIs are presented as active links using https://doi.org/;
  • references are alphabetized according to the first author’s surname.
Example—journal article

Generative artificial intelligence tools cannot be listed as authors because they cannot assume responsibility, approve the final manuscript, disclose conflicts of interest, or respond to questions concerning research integrity.

  • Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, references, arguments, and conclusions of their manuscripts.
  • AI-generated references, facts, quotations, and data must be independently verified.
  • AI tools must not be used to fabricate data, sources, results, images, or participant information.
  • Substantive use of generative AI in writing, analysis, coding, translation, or image creation must be transparently disclosed.
  • Basic spelling and grammar checking generally does not require detailed disclosure unless required by the editor.
Suggested declaration:
“During the preparation of this manuscript, the author(s) used [tool name and version] for [specific purpose]. The author(s) reviewed and edited the resulting material and take full responsibility for the content of the publication.”

13. Required declarations

Include the following statements before the reference list or on the separate title page:

Data availability

Explain where and under what conditions supporting data are available, or provide a justified explanation when they cannot be shared.

Ethical approval and informed consent

Provide relevant approval and consent information or state why these requirements were not applicable.

AI-use declaration

Disclose substantive use of generative AI or state that no generative AI was used in preparing the manuscript.

14. Editorial assessment and peer review

Submitted manuscripts are initially examined by the editorial office to assess their relevance, completeness, originality, academic quality, ethical compliance, and conformity with journal requirements.

Manuscripts that pass the initial assessment may be sent for independent academic review. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript’s originality, theoretical contribution, methodology, analysis, presentation, interpretation, and relevance to the journal’s readership.

Authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts. A revised submission should be accompanied by a detailed response explaining how each reviewer and editor comment has been addressed. Acceptance is not guaranteed by submission or revision.
